A Message from the President of Pace Air Products
Many of you may not be familiar with the PACE AIR brand of Mini-Split Heat Pump System so I wanted to introduce myself and give you a little history about our company.
I am actually third generation in the company. My grandfather started the company (Kirk Cousart & Assoc.) in 1950 representing manufacturers of upper-end commercial and industrial HVAC equipment in North and South Carolina. Over the past 57 years, much has changed as one would assume, yet we still represent several of the original manufacturers (Marley Cooling Tower Co. for example). My father joined the company in 1952 and in 1966 after my grandfather’s death; he became President and organized the business under PACE, Inc. I joined in 1978 and in 1992 assumed the role of President.
One of my personal goals since becoming President has been to diversify the company. About 4 years ago I began adding product lines that steered us into the small commercial and residential markets. One of the products added was the Soleus Air line of mini-splits heat pumps. Their product offering was relatively limited – 9 through 24K single zone 10 SEER heat pump systems only but we did successfully market the systems for over 3 years through the fine folks at Ductless HVAC Supply, Inc.
Meanwhile, our company had taken on an initiative to assemble a group of products that could serve the newly emerging “Green HVAC” (residential and small commercial) market. Mini-split systems were certainly suited to be part of a “Green HVAC” product group, and we made the decision to begin manufacturing what we believed the US mini-split market lacked – a mid-level price point that included high end service and product offerings. PACE AIR was formed with the mission of providing the best possible combination of marketability, quality, service and pricing.
Our first product groups consists of 13 SEER single zone ductless mini-splits - cooling only units, heat pumps and heat pumps with electric heat in 24k capacities and are readily available for purchase by clicking this link. By mid-September 2007 our 30k and 36k capacity single zone systems and dual zone twin 12k capacity systems will be available on this web site.
