Ductless mini split systems are very flexible and can be installed in many different ways. In most cases the outdoor unit sets on the ground and should be lifted about 4 inches to protect the unit and help reduce vibration with specially designed mounting block risers, which are provided with most of our kits. Several types of brackets are available for other types of applications. For example, one may choose to mount the outdoor unit on an exterior wall using a wall bracket, or install the outdoor unit on a pitched roof using a sloped roof bracket. Duplex stands allow one to stack a couple of outdoor units, one unit on top the other to save space. At Ductless HVAC Supply, we have several well built brackets which are built to hold the weight of the unit and last even with extreme weather conditions. Several ductless mini split brackets are available to suit your installation requirements.

Once a location has been determined for the mini split indoor unit and the outdoor unit, a measurement for the length of interconnecting refrigerant tubing and wiring between the indoor unit and the outdoor unit will be needed. Many units are shipped as a kit, which will include most installation accessories up to a certain length of interconnecting tubing and wiring. Most installation kits will include what is needed for the most basic type of installation, however if additional lengths would be required, other then, what comes with the kit, then additional lines of the same OD size will need to be purchased, which can be connected using flared couplers, or the lines can be brazed.

All ductless systems drain water, (condensation) which in most cases, the water would run downward through a drain hose. This drain hose in most cases runs out the 3 inch hole with the interconnecting tubing and wiring, to the exterior of home and would drain to the earth, perhaps to a flower bed. For example, when one would install the indoor unit in a basement, the condensation would not be able to gravity drain. In this case, a mini split pump would be required to remove the water. (Water Does Not Run Up Hill) Most kits if any do not include ductless mini split condensate pumps used to pump the condensation.

Upon completion of installation, one may choose to cover the interconnecting refrigerant tubing, wiring and drain hose which is now exposed on the exterior wall. Refrigerant Tubing Covers are available in Brown, Ivory and White and come in 2 halves. The bottom half is installed on the wall and the tubes are placed inside. The top half snaps over the bottom half which provides a secure and professional finish. Easy to install and Easy to Look At!!
